Birth rights: day in the life of a midwife in Ghana

Every week, around 75 women in Ghana die because of complications during pregnancy and childbirth.

This film was made with the support of the European Commission: http://ec.europa.eu/unitedkingdom/

multiply 75 X 52 weeks in a year means 3900 per year. When a family loses a mother it shuts the entire matriarchal system down. Now, you wonder the reason  we have so many orphans in third world nations?

We already have plans to go to Kumasi, Ghana to the villages north approximately 2 hours drive. In June. There we intend to research the needs of the peoples in this area. Please strongly consider to help Datha and I make this trip possible. Please go to our website http://www.corlisdees.net and click on the donation button and join in with others to help us see about these new born babies and their precious mothers. Give them a Mother's Day gift and I will make sure to forward the contributions to my newly appointed Regent in the area.
